NJDHA & Head Start
Yvonne Goldman (Northern) and Kim Attanasi (Northern) presented oral health information at the Head Start Oral Health Manager Orientation during the Head Start Region II Training in Atlantic City on 5.22.17. They answered questions regarding new oral health standards and meeting oral health goals, as well as discussed ways to incorporate toothbrushing with fluoride into the classroom. NJDHA is available for the NJ Head Starts of Region II for training and oral health services.

Special Needs Day - 10.17.17
EIC In Partnership with NJDHA


A. Harry Moore School- Free Preventive Healthcare Day: A. Harry Moore School, a school for special needs children, in which dental hygiene senior students from Eastern International College were honored to visit and treat sixty children on 10.17.17. These children were treated with the utmost respect, providing dental screening, and if possible, prophylaxis treatment including tooth brushing and applying topical fluoride. This was such a rewarding experience for all those involved.



3rd Grade Day 10.11.17
EIC In Partnership with NJDHA


Golden Door Charter School- Free Preventive Healthcare Day: The dental hygiene senior students at Eastern International College in partnership with NJDHA were delighted to see fifty-eight third-grade children from Golden Door Charter School on 10.11.17. This was a wonderful event where the children participated in different activities, dental screenings such as prophylaxis treatments including tooth brushing, topical fluoride, and x-rays and sealants as needed.


Senior Citizen Day 9.26.17
EIC In Partnership with NJDHA

Senior Citizens-Free Preventive Health Care Day: The dental hygiene senior students at EIC were grateful to treat thirty-two wonderful Senior Citizens of our community on 9.26.17. They were treated with the utmost respect as well as taking care of their dental needs, such as dental exams, x-rays, prophylaxis, and teaching them how to take care of their complete or partial dentures.



NJDHA Oral Cancer Screenings
This outreach to senior centers & health fairs reaches seniors and refers them to dental offices for complete care.  Events in the last year have included:

9.23.17 at the Rahway Senior Health Center
Organized by Dana Farrell (Northern), with Dr. Ethan Glickman onsite
Linda Knudsen, RDH (Northern) & Pat Fernandez, RDH (Bergen) provided care, and Erica Garcia, RDH (Northern) assisted. .

3.27.17 at the Hillside Senior Citizens Center
Organized by Dana Farrell (Northern), with Dr. Ethan Glickman onsite
Linda Knudsen, RDH (Northern), Pat Fernandez, RDH (Bergen), & Luz Munera, RDH (Northern) provided care, and Erica Garcia, RDH (Northern) assisted.




Fluoride Varnish Outreach
This outreach to per-schoolers provides screenings, fluoride varnish, education, and referral to dental offices. Events in the last year have included:

November 16 & 30, 2017 with Hamilton Head Start
Linda Knudsen, RDH (Northern), Kim Attanasi, RDH (Northern), & Yvonne Goldman, RDH (Northern) provided care.

November 5,6,& 7, 2017 education for Hamilton Head Start parents & staff

NJDHA Pre-School Visit

This outreach provided education on RDHs & dental offices, oral health, and nutrition, as well as viewing two Charlie Brown videos on oral health.

Each child received a "goody bag" containing toothbrush, floss, stickers, & a brushing brochure.

EIC & NJDHA Special Needs Day 4.12.17 In Partnership with NJDHA

On 3.27.18, EIC Students visited A.Harry Moore Special Needs School, & saw 58 special needs children, ages ranging from 3 to 21 years old. This event is co-sponsored by NJDHA as part of an outreach to communities of need. 
NJDHA President Linda Knudsen was on hand for the event!

NJDAA 85th ANNUAL SESSION on 5.5.18

Please note that the New Jersey Dental Assistants Association (NJDAA) is holding an annual session Saturday 5.5.18 in Vineland NJ at the Hampton Inn and Suites.

Program includes 4 CEU credits.

Fee for NJDAA or NJDHA members is only $20 which includes a box lunch; non member fee is $30.00 and Students attend free of charge.
