The partnership with LARC school for students with special needs expanded this year. Not only did Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting students participate in a panel discussion, but they also performed hands-on screenings and in-classroom dental education at LARC.

Additionally, on March 24th, LARC students visited our Dental Clinic for a “Day at the Dentist”. They experienced clinic (with oral hygiene instructions) and dental radiology. We are proud of our Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting students for doing an outstanding job giving LARC students an incredible first dental experience.

In the process, Camden County College students learned how to care for and manage patients with special needs. We are looking forward to continuing this valuable partnership. The Camden County College Student Chapter of the ADHA is conducting toiletries drive to support a local women’s shelter.

Michelle Fera is the 2023 NJDHA Gurenlian Leadership Award winner from Camden Community College.

Congratulations to Michelle Fera!

The fall semester, busy with fundraisers and various campus activities, included a visit from the United States Surgeon General Vivek Murthy. He visited the Blackwood campus on November 28th,2023 as part of his tour ”We Are Made To Connect” and engaged in conversation with actor Daniel Ezra on topics of mental health and loneliness. The Dental Hygiene freshman class president Eleni Toto and the Dental Assisting class president Rabiba Chaudhary participated in the discussion session with the Surgeon General.

Additionally, students took part in the annual Adopt-a-Family for the holidays program. Both senior and freshman classes purchased gifts for twelve children in two adoptive families.
